On December 11th we held our second Alternative Curriculum Day of the school year. Despite poor weather all events ran well and pupils experienced a wide range of activities. These included a variety of enterprise events  (delivered by a range of local agencies as well as by York St John’s and Sheffield Hallam Universities) to Sports and Drama workshops delivered by our own staff. In addition the Year 7 students took part in their annual Retreat which was expertly delivered by the RE Department. The Humanities department led some excellent activities focusing on the Christmas Truce of 1914.

The centrepiece of the day was a theatre production of a Christmas Carol organised by the English department. This was a wonderful event and really enhanced the classroom study of this text.

More events are planned for the Spring and we are always on the look out for new and exciting things for pupils to try. If you can help or offer ideas please contact gmcinerney@holytrinitybarnsley.org
