Friday October 14th 2016 was our first Alternative Curriculum Day (ACD)of the academic year. On these days we broaden the educational experiences of pupils through a range of activities and visitors.

As part of this ACD we were delighted to be  able to welcome James Morys Muir to our school. James is one of the Global Chairmen of Volkswagen PLC, the eighth largest company in the world !

During an hour long presentation followed by Q&A session with Y10 and 11 pupils games inspired pupils and staff alike with his career and life story which began from a very  ” normal” start in rural Wales.

He reinforced our school message of taking responsibility for our own lives and careers, stressing the importance of qualifications to the achievement of  success in the Fourth Industrial Revolution of which we are all part of.

The success of this event was shown be a highly appreciative audience, many of whom stayed behind at the end of the day to engage our guest with more questions.

This activity was one of a number delivered which enhanced, enriched and hopefully inspired all members of our community to be THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE

In the above picture James Morys Muir is flanked by Mr McInerney and Mr Brackley – who will both be buying VWs on the strength of his presentation!
